2 years ago I was a fit, active 36 year old and keen cyclist. One morning after a ride I woke up with terrible sciatic pain and unable to walk. My experience with NHS was unfortunately poor and there was an acceptance that this happens and an offer to sign me off work. No investigative work into cause and extreme reluctance to offer any service to try and restore a pain free life. Through booking a private MRI, physio and medication, I managed to live a relatively normal life although in pain varying from nagging to severe. 8 months ago pain began escalating again and began restricting my activities, it was at this point I contacted Mr Rudol. It was great to finally have someone look at how this could be managed and outline the potential steps from conservative treatments to the different types of surgery options available. We tried injections however these were unsuccessful and finally decided to take the surgical route and went for a lumbar microdiscectomy. The care before and after was great, risks were outlined and I was fully informed before proceeding. It's now 8 weeks since the operation and it is the best thing I could have done. My experience in recovery is immediate relief after the operation, followed by 1-2 weeks of leg pain returning / increasing, weeks 3 onwards pain decreasing. I'm pleased to say leg pain is almost completely gone and improvement continues. I'm looking forward to getting my fitness back and returning to football, DIY etc. Thank you Mr Rudol!

Mr Rudol was very clear about possible problems and benefits of the surgery . Allowing me to make an informed descision . After the surgery I was up and about walking within a couple of days. The follow up was excellent and I was made to feel reassured. The follow up lasted for some years to make sure all was well. He explained everything again allowing me to make informed decisions about my future health. I am extremely happy with the process and the result.

I had a spinal fusion in January 2020 done by Greg Rudol, I was under the care of Greg for a few years before my procedure and he was always caring and attentive when I saw him in clinic always, taking the time to listen and explain the procedure I was having at the time. I had several procedures before the spinal fusion and I always felt safe in his hands. On the day of my fusion he came to explain everything again and reassure me, he has a lovely calming bedside manner. After my operation he checked on me regularly and again such a lovely bedside manner. Since my operation I have been seeing him in clinic for the last three years and again such a lovely calm and reassuring manner. I cannot recommend Greg enough I would trust him with any of my family

Yesterday I had great news. It was a year since my spinal surgery (L3, L4 and L5 fusion with metalwork and spinal cage), following my CT scan in early January, all was well and healed. In June 2022 I trapped a sciatic nerve (and had a fracture in my spine) which put me in a wheelchair for 90% of my time which was life changing. Following an inital meeting with Mr Rudol I had MRI scans to find out what was going on to confirm the above. Mr Rudol took great time and patience in explaining what my options were (this during lockdown so a lot of calls done on zoom) which were actually quite frightening at the time - spinal surgery with a potential 12 - 18 month recovery time. I took time to consider it, during which time I had two spinal injections for the pain, but ultimately made the decision to go ahead with the surgery. I was 4 days in the Spire 'hotel' in Roundhay where I went through 6 hours of surgery, but had every confidence in Mr Rudol and his team, despite having to go through all the things that 'could' go wrong. During those 4 days Mr Rudol came to check on me twice a day to see how I was recovering, he was always professional, polite and encouraging to get up and get going. I was given a fairly daunting exercise regime but again Mr Rudol outlined, patiently, the benefits of the programme. I would also like here to give thanks to Sorelle Hartley, Mr Rudol's PA who has always been at the end of a phone/email with any queries or concerns I had, and Mr Rudol was always prompt in his response. One of the questions above is Did the Doctor listen to you - I would say that Mr Rudol does have that rare skill of listening, along with total professionalism and patience which puts you at ease. He explains everything in great detail in a way that shows his passion for his 'art'. I would highly recommend and trust Mr Rudol if anyone is considering spinal surgery.

Treatment for sciatica, I had experienced symptoms for 15 months before operation and I was struggling to walk more than about 50m before needing to sit down Excellent pre-operation consultation, clearly explaining what would happen during the operation in a very reassuring manner including outlining the very minor risks involved The whole team and process at Spire was very professional The operation was a massive success, I was able to walk distance immediately and there were no post-op issues. Nice neat small scar. Back to walking 3-5km with ease
